J.J. Coppinger’s is an Irish whiskey bar, housed in an 1850’s Gothic Revival townhouse designed by architect Augustus Pugin (Palace of Westminster, Big Ben). The venue is the winner of the Southern Comfort People’s Choice and Irish Pub of the Year awards.
I was asked to write conceptual launch copy (including architectural taglines for the bar’s street-facing windows), inspired by the story of John Joseph Coppinger — an American Civil War soldier from County Cork who rose through the ranks to fight alongside the infamous General Custer.
